Hydrojetting

If your sewer lines are backing up or simply moving slowly, they may need to be flushed. One way to clear debris for commercial or industrial applications is through hydrojetting. Watson Rooter has the right equipment and the right experts to match the job!

What Is Hydrojetting?

Hydrojetting is a sewer cleaning process that uses large volumes of water under very high pressure to literally scour the walls of drains and sewer lines. Unlike rooting that just cuts a hole in the blockage, hydrojetting cuts roots, grease and debris all the way around the walls of the pipe. This debris is then washed away to leave your sewer or drain lines as clean as the day they were put in!

How Hydrojetting Works

A Hydro Jetter consists of a large tank of water, a special high-pressure hose, a special high-strength nozzle, and a machine which pressurizes the water in the hose so that it can spray out of the nozzle at a pressurized rate of up to 3,500 psi and a flow rate of 18 gpm. Every plumbing system is designed to carry waste water "downstream" via gravity. The Hydro Jetting nozzle is placed at the "downstream" end of the plumbing system and it works its way "upstream" against gravity. That way, any debris that is cleared out by the Hydro Jetter will harmlessly flow downstream where the drainage path is already clear.

The Benefits of Hydrojetting

Hydro Jetting is a good solution when clogs cannot be removed through traditional snaking or rooting, such as in the presence of stubborn roots that have found their way into your sewer lines. Hydro Jetting is also required before Pipe Lining because any debris present in the existing pipe may cause the epoxy lining resin to be malformed and / or prevent it from bonding correctly to the existing pipe.

Types of Hydrojetting

Watson Rooter uses different hydrojetting equipment for different applications:

•  Hydro jetter are used for pipes that are 3" and up (such as main lines)
•  For large industrial and commercial problems, we have hydro-vac equipment which is ideal for
cleaning and pumping grease traps and septic systems.

Whether Watson Rooter will use hydrojetting or some other drain cleaning method (such as rooting) will depend on the circumstances of the problem. Have one of our Colorado Springs drain cleaning specialists visit your home or business today!
