Video Inspections

Can't find a drain, sewer or septic clog? Want to know the condition of your sewer lines or pipes? Let the video inspection specialists at Pikes Peak Sanitation use their sophisticated sewer cameras to pinpoint the root of a clog or the overall condition of your sewer lines or pipes.

A video camera pipe inspection allows for a real-time visual inspection of underground sewer lines and other piping to determine the condition inside the pipe. A flexible fiber optic cable with a specially designed high-resolution video camera on its tip is inserted into the pipe for inspection. As the cable is pushed through the pipe, the hardened waterproof camera, equipped with powerful lights, records its findings. Video images are transmitted to one of our NASSCO trained and certified camera operators at Pikes Peak Sanitation who can make an informed diagnosis of any problem found.

The beauty of a video inspection is that it can go where the human eye cannot - underneath a home or business! This is ideal if there is root or shrub penetration, for instance, that is clogging or blocking the sewer/drain line and preventing the normal flow of water.

Video inspection:

•  Details the condition of the drain lines and pipes, identifying broken or collapsed pipes or pipe corrosion
•  Discovers if substandard or outdated pipes were used that may now be deteriorated or corroded
•  Detects if the sewer pipe is misaligned due to shifting soil, frozen ground, etc.
•  Identify blockages, where a grease buildup or a foreign object is restricting proper pipe flow and/or cleaning of the line
•  Recognizes a bellied pipe where a section of the pipe has sunk due to ground or soil conditions
creating a valley that collects waste and sanitary products.
•  Finds leaking joints, particularly if the seals between pipes have been broken, allowing water to escape into
    the area surrounding the pipe
•  Pinpoints if there is any root infiltration that is invading the sewer line and potentially damaging the pipes
•  Locates point of repair, if needed
•  Verifies like new condition of cleaned pipe
